The Fruits of Greed

One day, little Ravi and his friend Amin went for a walk in the village garden. They saw red apples hanging from the branches of a big apple tree. The apples looked so beautiful that Ravi and Amin both wanted to eat them.

Ravi said, "We can eat one apple with the owner's permission."

But Amin was greedy. He said, "Why just one? I will take many apples!"

He tried to climb the tree without asking permission. But suddenly his foot slipped, and he fell from the tree. His knees hurt and he started crying. Then Ravi said, "Amin, being greedy always leads to bad results. If you had been patient and asked for permission, this would not have happened."

Amin realized his mistake and vowed that he would never be greedy again.

Moral lesson: Being greedy always leads to harm.
